Understand and change work schedules
A work schedule defines your regular hours and presets for working breaks and fixed times. With weekly or monthly regular hours, it also contains the weekday durations used for all-day absences. WorkTimes applies the schedule that is valid on the date of each time entry.
The Standard schedule
WorkTimes creates a Standard schedule for every account. It remains valid until a later schedule starts and cannot be deleted. If your working arrangements do not change, this may be the only schedule you need.
Edit a work schedule
- From the overview, open the menu (•••) and choose Account Details.
- Open the current schedule, or choose All Work Schedules.
- Select the schedule you want to edit.
- Change its Description, Valid from date, Template setting, Regular Hours, Working Breaks, or Fixed Times.
- Go back and save the account changes.
Warning: Changing an existing schedule’s regular hours recalculates overtime and absences within that schedule’s date range. Moving its Valid from date can also make a different schedule apply to existing entries. If your working arrangements change from a particular date, create a new schedule instead. Break and fixed-time presets affect new entries only.
Create a new work schedule
- Open All Work Schedules.
- Tap the plus button.
- Choose a template. WorkTimes copies that schedule’s settings.
- Enter a Description and the required Valid from date.
- Adjust the remaining settings, then save the account changes.
The previous schedule applies through the day before Valid from. WorkTimes uses the new schedule from that date onward. If you change a time entry’s date, WorkTimes checks the applicable schedule again and recalculates the entry and its overtime.
