Set up and restore an iCloud backup

An iCloud backup protects your WorkTimes data automatically and lets you restore it after changing devices or losing data. You can choose the interval and create an additional backup at any time.

Set up iCloud backup

  1. From the overview, open the menu (•••) and choose Settings.
  2. Open Backup.
  3. Turn on Backup to iCloud. It is enabled by default.
  4. Under Backup Interval, choose weekly or monthly.

Once the interval has elapsed, WorkTimes schedules a background backup. iOS decides when that background task runs. The Backup screen shows the last successful backup.

Back up immediately

Under Backup, tap Back Up to iCloud Now. In UK English, the button is Back Up Now. Check the last-successful-backup time afterward.

Restore an iCloud backup

Warning: Restoring replaces every account, entry, and tag currently in WorkTimes. It cannot be undone. Create a current manual backup first if you may still need the existing data.

  1. Open SettingsBackup.
  2. Tap Restore from iCloud.
  3. Choose the required WorkTimes backup.
  4. Check the filename and confirm Restore.
  5. Wait for WorkTimes to confirm the restore.

If iCloud is unavailable

WorkTimes needs iCloud Drive and Background App Refresh. Until both are available, it cannot create or restore an iCloud backup. Follow the planned troubleshooting article if WorkTimes reports either requirement as unavailable.
