Change employers without changing past records
When you change employers, create a new WorkTimes account. This keeps the previous employer’s entries, work schedules, absence settings, and overtime calculations unchanged.
Create the new account
- Open the overview menu (•••) and choose All Accounts.
- Tap Add Account.
- Enter a distinct employer or job name.
- Set up the new regular hours, absence durations, working breaks, and any fixed times.
- Leave the existing overtime balance at zero unless you intentionally want to carry one over.
- Tap Finish.
If you keep the same account
You can instead create a new work schedule with a Valid from date for the new job. Do not edit the old schedule, because that would recalculate earlier entries. A separate account is safer when the change occurs partway through a weekly or monthly calculation period.
Warning: If the new job uses a different daily, weekly, or monthly calculation period, create a new account. Do not change that setting on the existing account.
Start the new job with a zero balance
To keep the account but reset its balance, create an overtime adjustment dated one day before the change. Reduce a positive balance or add the missing time to offset a negative balance, and add a note explaining the employer change.
