Set a different duration for vacation or holiday
An all-day vacation entry—called a holiday entry in UK English—has no start or end time. Its credited duration comes from the regular-hours settings in the applicable work schedule.
How the duration is selected
- With daily regular hours, WorkTimes normally uses that weekday’s regular hours.
- With weekly or monthly regular hours, WorkTimes uses the weekday duration configured for all-day absences.
By default, all all-day absence types use the same weekday duration. You can set separate values for vacation or holiday entries.
Set custom weekday durations
- Open Account Details and select the applicable work schedule.
- Open Regular Hours.
- Enable Deviating daily durations for vacation entries. UK English shows “holiday entries.”
- Set the required duration for each weekday.
- Go back and save the account.
The custom values apply only to all-day vacation or holiday entries. Other absence types continue to use the general weekday durations.
Warning: Changing an existing schedule recalculates affected entries in its date range. For a future change, create a new work schedule with the correct Valid from date.
