Track short-time work or temporarily reduced hours

If your regular hours are temporarily reduced, create a new work schedule starting on the first affected date. When normal hours resume, create another schedule starting on that date.

Do not change an existing schedule’s regular hours. WorkTimes would also recalculate earlier absences and overtime within that schedule’s date range.

Create the reduced-hours schedule

  1. Open the overview menu (•••) and choose Account Details.
  2. Open the current work schedule and enable Use as Template if needed.
  3. Open All Work Schedules and tap the plus button.
  4. Choose the current schedule as the template.
  5. Enter a description such as Reduced hours.
  6. Set Valid from to the first affected date.
  7. Open Regular Hours and enter the temporary targets.
  8. If needed, adjust absence durations, working breaks, or fixed times.
  9. Go back and save the account.

Continue to record the hours actually worked. From the selected date, WorkTimes compares them with the reduced target.

Return to normal hours

  1. Add another schedule under All Work Schedules.
  2. Choose the normal-hours schedule as the template.
  3. Set Valid from to the first date normal hours apply again.
  4. Review the copied settings and save the account.

If the temporary target changes again, add another schedule for that change date. WorkTimes records the schedule and calculations; it does not determine legal entitlement or pay rules for short-time work.
